Water porosimeter
Supervisor: Guia Guarini
The water porosimeter is an instrument that allows the determination of the quantity of water absorbed and the apparent porosity of ceramic specimens (in particular of ceramic tiles according to the ISO standard 10545-3) by measuring the amount of water absorbed under fixed conditions. The method is based on the impregnation with water of the ceramic specimens placed under vacuum so that all open pores are filled.
The instrument is made up of an AISI 304 stainless steel container, a sample holder basket, a water tank, a vacuum pump and a control panel with a programmable electronic control unit.
Nannetti PL
The Nannetti PL water porosimeter allows to analyze samples up to a maximum size of 15 cm x 20 cm.
