Materials for extreme applications
NanoTechnology and Nanosafety
Dariia Chernomorets is a dedicated and accomplished researcher in the field of material sciences, with a strong focus on ceramics. Her technical skills are extensive and include powder treatment and characterization, shaping techniques like dry pressing and cold isostatic pressing, and advanced methods such as slip casting and direct ink writing. Main research areas: fabrication and characterization of yttria-based transparent ceramics; sol-gel and solid-state synthesis of Y/Yb-disilicates powders and process optimization for obtaining Environmental Barrier Coatings (EBCs); SEM and EDX characterization of ZrB2-based Ultra Hight Temperature Ceramics (UHTCs). Representative of Ukraine in Young Ceramists Network (YCN). Her workstation is in Open Space 3 on the first floor.
