The general objective of SOS-ACQUA is to develop a ‘batch’ system capable of purifying water and generating hydrogen from water using solar energy, in order to create a portable or on field system, to meet the needs of individuals or small communities.
The technological solution proposed in this project consists of a filter with a cell unit immersed in water and a solar panel system. By using solar energy, the device allows:
1) to remove and degrade organic pollutants
2) to generate hydrogen from water splitting.
