Histological Equipment

The Histological Equipment consist of different instruments for the processing of the biological tissue and 3D cell culture models. The samples, obtained by the culture of cells in different 3D biomaterials (soft and ceramic based), are embedded in in resin (paraffin, OCT or epoxy resins) are then sectioned in 5-10 µm slides and finally stained for histological, cytological analyses and immunolocalization.
These analyses allow the evaluation of cell morphology and of the production of extracellular matrix, moreover is possible to study the molecular mechanism of cellular interaction with the different nanostructures of the biomaterials.
