Thermal treatments
The Sintering Laboratory is a process laboratory where ceramic materials are consolidated by subjecting them to high temperatures, particular gas atmospheres and the application of both uniaxial and isostatic pressure. In particular, there are about ten electric furnaces for standard debinding and sintering treatments, two tubular furnaces, a hot pressing apparatus, a gas pressure sintering apparatus and finally a high vacuum furnace specifically dedicated to the production of transparent ceramics.
