Rotocolor S5 is a roller printer, widely used in the ceramics industry for the deposition of a liquid phase (solution, ink, particle suspension) on a flat solid surface (maximum width 636 mm) carried by a conveyor belt.
A blade allows the formation of a homogeneous liquid film on the surface of the roll, avoiding the accumulation of material.
The roll that transfers the liquid phase to the surface has a proper geometry that influences the release of liquid, allowing accurate control on the surface coating. Even the material in which the roll is made can be chosen according to the needs. Through control of the blade angle, roller speed and height, and belt speed it possible to modify the liquid film deposited on the sample surface.
Rotocolor features a system for the recovery and recirculation of the excess liquid, thus leading to reduced waste of material.
